Jiawan Tribe Flavored Truku Cuisine
Da Zhuzi Tribal Tour
The Da Zhuzi Tribal Tour is located in Xiulin Township, at the northernmost end of Hualien. Combining local agriculture, it carefully selects fresh ingredients from tribal small farmers and prepares them with a sincere heart, serving dishes rich in traditional Jiawan flavors of Taroko cuisine.
The main dish, Roselle Red Quinoa Rice, may seem simple, but its sweet and sour roselle flavor is surprisingly delightful. Paired with a bite of prickly ash oil chicken leg, the tender and juicy meat carries a subtle green onion aroma, with a mildly spicy taste that is particularly appetizing. Add some chilled mountain vegetables and wild vegetable omelette, and with every bite, you can savor the fragrance of the land, allowing your taste buds to freely wander amidst the aromas of the mountains and forests.

A collection of the wonderful food and drinks shared by the children of Hualien and Taitung.
HUAZI
Hualien Zhuoxi Township's 'Delicious Hualien Delights' upholds the spirit of valuing food. They turn ripe or leftover fruits into jars of jam, which are then used to craft distinctive beverages.
The 'Tina Herbal Tea' is made from beans grown in Tina's garden and blended with tropical flowers. This special tea not only helps to reduce heat and inflammation but also alleviates water retention, easing worries about excess weight.
The 'Uvazaz Sparkling Drink' is crafted from locally grown tree grapes cooked into jam. It's then blended with sparkling water to create a refreshing and cooling drink that instantly brings a sense of happiness.
The 'Tama Special Drinks' are made with selected pineapple jam and wrapped in betel leaf. They offer a mildly spicy taste mixed with the pineapple's fresh aroma. This drink reflects the diverse experiences of life, combining sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy flavors. It's a must-try for its bone-chilling, adult taste. This summer of 2024, the Tribal Food Paradise presents these three carefully selected beverages, inviting everyone to raise a glass and savor the local flavors of Hualien.
